Two Nights Base Camp Experience
Camping, hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing and everything else you want to do in the woods
Available Late August through Early October
( This is a great opportunity to see what the Colorado High Country has to offer. )
Day 1
Arrive afternoon/evening, drop your pack in a private and spacious wall tent and enjoy a self guided walk/wildlife viewing at your leisure or just kick and back enjoy the views! At night, enjoy dinner around a campfire.
Day 2
Take a scenic hike guided by our host up to a beautiful alpine lake where you can try your hands at some trout fishing. Beautiful Brookies, Rainbow and Cutthroat can be found in this amazing lake located at 10,000 feet elevation. After that you are free to continue hiking/wildlife viewing and make your way back to camp at your leisure. That night we will hopefully enjoy a fish dinner!
Day 3
Wake up at your leisure, enjoy some wildlife viewing and enjoy a self guided hike to Rabbit Ears Peak or move on to your next adventure!
What’s Provided?
- 2 nights lodging at our base camp and/or a spike camp (most camp gear provided, see See Base & Spike Camp Amenities)
- Private wall tent with cots and full use of the camp kitchen for cooking (See Base & Spike Camp amenities for what is provided in the camp kitchen!)
- Guided hike to a beautiful lake located at 10,0000 feet elevation
- Camp Fire Cooking Workshop (hopefully with the fish we catch at the lake!)
- Outdoor Learning Experiences: tell your guide of any specific things you want to do during your stay

What Should I Bring?
Not much! One of our goals is to provide most everything you will need to spend a few nights in the woods. We are well aware of the amount of time and money you can spend preparing for even a 1-2 night camping trip for your family or group.
- Day Pack-bring something you can put a few things in for a day hike.
- Clothing: In September, be prepared for cool evenings, warm/hot days and the potential of rain or light snow. Bring enough clothes for 2 nights!
- Lightweight hiking shoes/boots
- Canteen, water bottle or camelback (something to store water in)
- Bath towel-if you want to use the awesome camp shower, bring your own towel OR air dry in the amazing Colorado high country dry air (either option is acceptable)
Sleeping bag-bring your own OR request one during your booking.
